Netflix’s New Series

Emily In Paris (premiere: October 2)

Lilly Collins will play Emily, an ambitious twenty year old from Chicago who lands her dream job in Paris after the company where she works as an executive buys a luxury marketing company in France and tasks her with renewing its social media strategy. Her new life in the City of Light soon ignites intense adventures and newer challenges, such as earning the respect of her colleagues, making friends, and living new romantic experiences.

The Haunting Of Bly Manor (premiere: October 9)

This is a spooky gothic romance horror story based on the work of Henry James, The Turn of the Screw, from 1898. This new season would be a new story with new characters, and it will have no connections to The Haunting of Hill House, since the first installment was an adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel The Haunting of Hill House.

Social Distance (premiere: October 15)

A very much tragicomic anthology series filmed in confinement that exposes fun ways—and not so much ways—people have found to stay connected from the distance. The production of this new series was written, produced, and directed remotely. The director and its creators are none other than the award-winning and highly recognized creators of Orange is the New Black, which has already advanced the format of this new release.

Alguien Tiene Que Morir (Somebody Has to Die) (premiere: October 16)

Someone Has to Die will consist of three chapters that will tell the story of a young man living in Mexico whose parents ask to return home with his girlfriend. The plot sets in the 1950s in a very conservative society. But the plot truly begins when the young man, instead of returning with a girl, returns with a ballet dancer named Lazaro.

The director of this miniseries is Manolo Caro, who also created The House of Flowers. On this occasion, he wrote in conjunction with Monika Revilla and Fernando Pérez, and this series is one of Caro’s first works outside the field of comedy.
